WE PRAY AS DOMINICAN REPUBLIC AND SUPERINTENDENT RETURN HOME TO THEIR CHURCH AFFECTED BY TROPICAL STORM NOEL. WE RECEIVED THIS UPDATE:
VISA Host Kendra Luna returned Friday night, Nov 9, from the Dominican Republic where she had accompanied a VISA team from the Spring Arbor, MI FMC. She writes,”We had a great time of work and ministry with the team. We were able to deliver some supplies to families that had lost their homes in the flooding that happened as a result of Noel while I was there. It was so sad to see the homes filled with mud and incredible to hear miraculous stories of how the Lord preserved the lives of others. We saw a skinny avocado tree that 16 people perched in to survive the night while the flood waters raged around them – we also saw where two children (8 & 3 yrs) had been swept out of their mothers hands as they waited for their father to return from carrying another sibling to the avocado tree. The Christians in this village told us how they had many opportunities to pray with desperate people as the flood waters rose. I wished I could have stayed and done more to help these precious people!”
ALSO HAITIAN SUPERINTENDENT DEVARISTE WILL TRAVEL IMMEDIATELY TO CHURCHES TO OFFER RELIEF WORK TO PARISHONERS. PLEASE PRAY THAT HE CAN OFFER HOPE.

OREMOS MIENTRAS LA REPÚBLICA DOMINICANA Y EL SUPERINTENTENTE REGRESARN A SUS IGLESIAS AFECTADAS POR LA TORMENTA TROPICAL NOEL. RECIBIMOS LA SIGUIENTE NOTICIA:
La misionera VISA, Kendra Luna regresó el viernes, el 9 de noviembre por la noche, de la República Dominicana a donde había acompañado a un grupo VISA de la IML de Spring Arbor, Michigan. Ella dice, “Tuvimos un gran tiempo de trabajo y ministerio con el grupo. Pudimos entregar algunas provisiones a familias que habían perdido sus hogares en la inundación que sobrevino como resultado de Noel mientras estuve allá. Qué triste ver las casas llenas de lodo, e increíble escuchar historias milagrosas de la manera cómo el Señor preservó las vidas de otros. Vimos un escuálido árbol de aguacate en el que se habían refugiado 16 personas para sobrevivir la noche mientras las aguas rugían alrededor de ellos—también vimos a dos niños de 8 y 3 años que habían sido arrebatados de las manos de su madre mientras esperaban al padre que había ido a llevar a otros parientes al ya mencionado árbol. Los cristianos en este pueblo nos dijeron que habían tenido mucha oportunidad de orar con personas desesperadas mientras las aguas de la inundación subían. Yo desee haber podido quedarme y hacer más para ayudar a esas preciosas personas.”
